Born and raised in Mesquite, Nevada, Cresent Hardy has always worked hard to not only take care of himself and his family but to give back to his community.  His commitment to public service is clear – he has served as the Mesquite Public Works Director, a member of the Virgin Valley Water District, and as a member of the Mesquite City Council.  Cresent Hardy brings over two decades of public service experience to his campaign for Assembly District 20.

A fourth-generation resident of Mesquite – his grandfather was the first baby born in the town - Hardy knows the importance of building a strong, safe community for families.  He and his wife, Peri, have been married for 28 years and are the proud parents of four wonderful children.  Cresent believes that a small community helps bring families and neighbors closer together and makes communities friendlier and safer.  He will fight in Carson City to protect these values and our way of life.

It’s Cresent’s commitment to our families that led him to develop neighborhood parks, new recreation facilities, and walking and riding paths on the Mesquite Trail System.  He has also been involved in organizations like the Salvation Army and Angel Tree programs, as well as the Boy Scouts of America. Cresent also served as Chairman of the Board for Mesa View Regional Hospital, helping open its doors and getting it established during the first two years of operation.

Cresent and his business partner founded the Golf Fore Kids fundraising program which has raised over $165,000 for needy children in Southern Nevada in only four short years.  Their company staff has worked countless hours and donated incredible amounts of energy to make the yearly events successful. Hardy is also active in his church and community organizations such as Junior Livestock, 4H, and veterans groups.  He and his business partner created the Legacy of Higher Learning and Talent Development organization which has provided roughly 60 scholarships in the past three years for young Southern Nevadans to help them attend college.

Like the generations before him that worked so hard to improve the community, Cresent is working to better the community for generations to come.

Growing up in a farming community taught Cresent the value of hard work at a young age. Working with cattle, horses, and pigs on his father’s ranch as a young man instilled a valuable work ethic and he applies these lessons each and every day as a businessman.  As a small business owner Cresent knows what it takes to create jobs, make a payroll, and meet a budget…something we need more of in Carson City. The value of a hard day’s work and being self-reliant has helped him succeed in his career as a licensed contractor and small business owner.

Working with then Commissioner Bruce Woodbury Cresent Hardy has helped develop important infrastructure projects for Southern Nevada, creating new storm drain and flood control projects, improving the Waste Water Treatment Plant facility, and the Town Wash Detention Basin.  Cresent was even a worker himself on widening the canyon road for Hoover Dam on the Nevada side of the river; he lived in Boulder City for a year as construction progressed through the canyon.

As a small businessman himself, Cresent knows that businesses are critical in bringing new jobs and economic prosperity to communities – that’s why during his time as City Councilman, he helped bring many new businesses to Mesquite.  During these tough economic times, it is clear that Nevada needs legislators like Cresent Hardy who understand the importance of hard work, conservative governance, and sensible business practices.

Assembly District 20 is a beautiful, diverse, and growing area that needs principled leaders like Cresent Hardy to fight the hard fight, make the right decisions and stand up for what we believe in.  Cresent has always put the people before politics, and he will continue to work hard for Southern Nevada families and businesses as our next Assemblyman.

Cresent Hardy brings valuable business experience and fresh ideas to Assembly District 20.  He knows what it takes to make Nevada great and to keep our communities the places that we are proud to call home.
